About Me

Hello! 

Everyone asks me why I do what I do. My response typically makes people laugh or question why they bothered to ask. 

A family friend had asked me to do their cake for their wedding in August. At that point I had never baked a cake from scratch or decorated one in any capacity. I'm still questioning why they asked me. I of course said yes. If you know me at all you know I am a procrastinator. I'm always late. I'm always pushing things to the absolute last minute....which is why if you show up to early for your order, it's not done. 

Anyway

I was ready for their wedding. I bought all the cake pans, tested a recipe (still the one I use today) and asked for time off from work. A friend of mine offered to help me. She didn't have any confidence in me... Turns out I was not prepared. AT ALL

The small cakes came out of the pans fine and then I got to a larger cake that I couldn't get out of the pan. I didn't have enough frosting, I didn't have enough time, I didn't have enough cold air. I live in an apartment and was keeping my family awake and my friend was calling into work so she could help me all day again. I was dead tired and didn't even make it til 9 at the wedding. 

idk why but I was suckered into doing a cake for a co-worker a few months later. I booked another one and another one and realized I was hooked. I gave up all of my other hobbies and sleep and dedicated all of my extra time to cakes. It didn't take long for me to have orders every month and then every week. 

I still don't enjoy baking or eating sweets. I love creating though.

When I first started out I would be sent photos from Pinterest and asked if I could recreate it. I would say yes. As I have progressed I have found my style. I no longer recreate cakes but I will use them for inspiration.
